Wanda Lyle


Wanda Lyle is a Global Executive and Board Director with 40 years of Financial Services industry and 10 years of Board of Director experience. She has extensive experience creating and implementing innovative structures to ensure that risk management, controls and oversight meet regulatory and business requirements. Significant expertise in: Financial Services Growth Strategies, Shared Services, Global Supply Chain, Revenue Generation, Regulatory Compliance, Organizational Change, B2B and B2C. Global Scope includes Europe, India, China, Mexico, and Brazil. 

Wanda’s Board of Directors experience includes Ascension Saint Thomas Health Tennessee (executive, finance & quality of care committees), Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce (chair; executive, governance, finance & nominating committees), Tennessee Business Leaders Council (executive board), Nashville Public Education Foundation (former chair; executive committee), YWCA Greater Nashville (former chair; executive, finance, and nominating committees), Tennessee College Access and Success Network (former chair) NashvilleHealth and Frist Art Museum. 

From 2014 through 2021, Wanda served as the Managing Director – General Manager of the UBS Business Solutions Nashville UBS. As part of UBS global strategy, she established the Business Solutions Center in Nashville, hiring and overseeing 1,300 employees, providing shared services to US Wealth Management, Investment Banking and Asset Management businesses. In 2016, Wanda was named President of UBS Business Solutions US LLC with more than 6,500 employees ensuring preparedness for resolution and recovery for US Too Big to Fail regulatory requirements which she maintained until her retirement in 2021. As President, she oversaw assets of $1.2B generating approximately $2B revenue while consistently maintaining the target operating margin and collateral adequate to support the business in the event of a financial crisis. She also served on the UBS Business Solutions AG Executive Committee to ensure a consistent and cohesive global operating model for the 21,000 employees across all locations including the US.

Wanda also served as the Global Head of Supply Chain Risk and Control with teams in London, Zurich, Poland, India, and the US. In addition to establishing, implementing, and maintaining controls and oversight for third party providers, she was responsible for responding to regulatory inquiries including FRBNY, FDIC, OCC and SEC. 

Prior to joining UBS, Wanda spent more than 20 years with Merrill Lynch where she was responsible for Business Risk Management for US Wealth Management ranging from emerging investors to ultra-high net worth for the US and Latin America. While in that position, she led several strategic initiatives including redefining and implementing a new branch leadership structure, establishing newly defined roles, and creating a centralized supervision review unit. These changes revolutionized the supervision structure leading to stronger business results, an improved client experience and a more effective risk management framework. These breakthrough approaches have now been replicated by other financial services firms in the industry. Wanda was also responsible for reviewing and approving new business initiatives and products as well as associated policies and compliance procedures to ensure all audit and regulatory requirements were effectively managed. 

Wanda is dedicated to the Nashville community and, through her leadership, has had a significant impact on economic development, education, diversity and inclusion, & women and girls. In addition to her Board of Directors leadership, Wanda is a member of International Women’s Forum, Nashville’s Agenda, Academy for Women of Achievement, Leadership Nashville and is a founding member and Advisory Board Member of The Table, a social enterprise devoted to diversity, equity and inclusion for all Nashvillians.

Wanda earned a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Mississippi, is a graduate of the Securities Industry Institute at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and holds National Association of Securities Dealers Series 3, 7, 8, 63, 65, 66 and 24 registrations. Wanda and her husband have two children and 3 grandchildren and live in Brentwood, Tennessee.
